BLOG for December 2017

Holy cow!! Can this be December already? We hope that 2017 has been a successful year for each of you. That you and your loved ones are healthy, happy, that you are enjoying this one life you have been given, that you offer help to those less fortunate, that you remember those that have been kind and blessed you. We hope that there are those who remember the kindness you have shown to them as well. Try and leave people better off than they were before you saw them.

We just read our December 2016 post and can't believe so much has happened. One year ago we were looking forward to our 18th anniversary sailing school vacation. This December we have bought our retirement vessel and have her sitting in a slip in Foss Harbor marina in Tacoma. We go there almost every weekend repairing this, adding that, and upgrading things. This is already turning out to be a great month on SV AKIA. First of all we are finally going to get the 30 AMP service upgraded to 50 AMP. We are going to get the dodger raised up 10"-12" and replace the canvas with upgraded windows. We are adding the bimini and extending it to cover the whole cockpit and add the sides and back windows and screens. That will be the last of the planned 2017 work.

Although December is a busy and stressful time for many people. First and foremost it is a time for gratitude. The greatest gift from God to man was our savior Jesus. Who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be forgiven. Be thankful for that. Have an attitude of gratitude. Seek the good in people. Be a better friend, a better mother or father, a better brother or sister, a better husband or wife, a better boss, a better employee. Give more than you recieve. These are the things that will make for a happy life. It is the reason for he season. Have a wonderful Christmas.

Fair winds to all of our fellow travelers.
